High chairs in restaurants
are dirty and unsafe. If it doesn’t have
congealed food stuck to it, the seat buckle is
broken. Unless you have a really out-of-the-way
table, the high chair sticks out in the aisle.

Dear Hip Dad-

Help!!!

Dear Glenn:
First
of all, it's good to hear from Hoboken, the
birthplace of baseball and Frank Sinatra. Before
you leave for the land of tapas, sangria and
disarmingly attractive hotel room attendants,
say hi to the boys at Leo's Grandevous for me.
Every hip mom and dad should
know that for the long flight, most airlines offer
special services for hip babies. Some of the most
common features include:
A bassinet for hip babies under 8 months
Baby meals
Lower fares for babies
Pre-boarding for families with small children
Hot water or the ability to heat bottles
Be sure to contact
your airline in advance to take advantage of
these comfort features. Check this site for
a breakdown of what a lot of airlines offer.
Some airlines are more baby-friendly than others.
It is also imperative to pack
the right things in your diaper bag.
Don’t
forget:
Diapers
Change of clothes
Books and toys
Blankets
Food and bottles
Unfortunately all of the toys, bottles, books
and bassinets in the world offer no guarantee
that you will walk off of that plane without
every non-parent aboard glaring at you for allowing
your child to "ruin" their flight.
At that point, it's a matter of faith. Think
positive. Think to yourself, say to your baby,
"He's not going to cry...not even a whimper...just
sleep and sleep and sleep...it's going to be
a very boring flight." |

What’s a hip mom to do?

Dear Suzie- You
are preaching to the choir, sister. What did we
do before the MeToo! Baby Seat? Available on hipbabygear.com,
the MeToo is a clip-on seat that is a perfect
alternative to the traditional restaurant high
chair. It accommodates hip babies up to 35 pounds,
and it folds flat for ease of transport. It will
even fit in your diaper bag! And did I mention
that
you will be the oh-so-hippest family in the eatery?
I could
describe my experience with this great seat, but
here’s a testimonial from one of our hip
moms who purchased one on my recommendation: “The
Me Too seat does rock. The seat had its maiden
voyage at breakfast this morning. My son Hudson
loved it and I loved it as much as I dreamed I
would. It's like he's really joining us for the
meal. Right there, in your face -- it was My Dinner
with Hudson.” Mattydale,
New York? Say hi to the boys at the Town Tavern
for me, and have a kielbasa for me too.
