The
Miyo Baby Hammock was designed
by Sarah Hannah, a New Zealand
mother who had used a baby hammock
for her three children and wanted
to create an improved product
that would extend the same comfort
and health benefits.
The usage of baby hammocks has
been gaining momentum in recent
years, as there are numerous advantages
to taking this approach. A hammock
offers plenty of support, while
still conforming to the natural
contours of a baby's body and
reducing the risk of flat head
syndrome in infants. It also provides
a very gentle swaying motion,
which helps to soothe a restless
sleeper.
The Miyo allows babies to sleep
comfortably on their backs, a
recommended measure to help prevent
SIDS. The sleep positions attainable
with the Miyo are also greatly
beneficial to children who have
infant colic or acid reflux.
The Miyo Baby Hammock also offers
a variety of hanging options which
allows parents to move the hammock
throughout the house and even
travel with. It can be attached
directly into a ceiling beam using
the provided hook, connected to
the wooden stand (sold separately),
or clamped at the top of nearly
any doorway with the "Love
Handle" door clamp (sold
separately).
The Miyo Baby Hammock
includes:
- 1 hammock and ring
- 1 mattress
- 2 hooks
- 1 chain
- 1 wooden separator
- 1 spring
- 1 spring cover
- 1 spring clip
The Miyo Baby Hammock Company
hammock is designed to be used
from birth up to approximately
6-9 months, depending on the size
and development of the individual
baby. We recommend once a baby’s
length is past the hammock domes
and/or baby begins to roll over
that baby be placed in a flat
bed.
